Three years ago, Superstorm Sandy swarmed through New York and New Jersey affecting the entire east coast. Sandy was the largest Atlantic hurricane on record (by diameter), the second costliest storm in U.S. history, affecting 24 states, and was responsible for more than $95 billion in damage and hundreds of deaths.
Even before Sandy made landfall, ServiceMaster Restore and ServiceMaster Recovery Management teams were in position, ready to respond rapidly to the homes and businesses that experienced the worst of Sandy’s destructive force. Our crew at ServiceMaster Recovery Management of the Southeast responded to a variety of different businesses and commercial buildings affected by Sandy such as The New York Aquarium, a popular New York City department store and a chocolate factory.
Within hours of the first landfall, more than 200 ServiceMaster Restore and SRM owners, managers, crew leaders and technicians converged on the hardest hit areas from points across the U.S. Over the following days, months and now two years later, these dedicated teams helped to restore hundreds of homes, businesses and public venues minimizing business interruptions and seeing each job through to assure total satisfaction.
