While Salem is home to no shortage of local nonprofits doing great work for local kids, few events bring the community together quite like the Corporate Shoot Out and Ironman Golf Marathon, held each year to benefit the Boys & Girls Club of Salem, Marion and Polk Counties. ServiceMaster Restore of Salem was proud to sponsor a hole at this year's event, joining local businesses and community members for a day on the course in support of local youth.

Community involvement Salem business owners can count on starts with showing up for the organizations that matter most to local families. This year's event brought together sponsors, golfers and volunteers to support programs that serve K-12 students throughout Marion and Polk Counties, including:

• Youth mentorship programs
• After-school academic support
• Sports and recreation activities
• Summer enrichment programming
• Leadership development opportunities

These programs reach kids across Salem and the surrounding area, supported by the Boys & Girls Club's home base on Sumer St, where staff and volunteers host activities and events for local youth year-round. Businesses across the Salem area came together for this year's tournament, from The Yard in Salem off of Lancaster to Oregon Specialty Group off of Oak Street right downtown. ServiceMaster Restore of Salem, located off of Judson Street next to the Salem Airport, was glad to stand alongside these local partners in support of a cause that benefits the whole community.

Because outdoor events like this depend on cooperative weather and a well-timed schedule, organizers and golfers alike were grateful the tournament came together when it did. Playing a round for a good cause is always a win, and this year's event made it easy to see the impact these dollars will have on local kids.

Where Did the Corporate Shoot Out and Ironman Golf Marathon Take Place?

This year's tournament was held at Illahe Hills Country Club, located off of River Road in Salem. Golfers teed off just in time to beat scheduled chip sealing work in the area, making for a smooth day on the course despite the tight timing. The course provided a great backdrop for a day of friendly competition among local businesses, all working toward the same goal of supporting the Boys & Girls Club.
