What is COVID-19?

COVID-19, also called the coronavirus, is a respiratory illness that spreads through air droplets from person to person. Those infected may experience mild to severe symptoms that include trouble breathing, fever, chills, and coughing. It may take 2 to 14 days for symptoms to appear after infection. Those who are most likely to experience severe symptoms from COVID-19 include senior citizens and those who have compromised immune systems and pre-existing conditions.
