Fire Damage Restoration at St. Mary's Parish
On March 1, 2025, St. Mary’s celebrated the reopening of their parish with a full Mass led by Archbishop Richard G. Henning after four months of dedicated restoration work. In late Fall, an arson fire broke out in the sacristy, sending heavy smoke throughout the church causing extensive smoke damage that required significant restoration expertise.

Understanding the urgency of the situation and impact to the community, Team Gilmore immediately deployed advanced cleaning techniques, including specialized equipment and hydroxyl machines to clear smoke and eliminate odors. Our goal was to minimize downtime and allow parishioners to return to normalcy. Within one month of the fire, we completed smoke damage cleaning in the downstairs Sacred Hall Chapel—just in time for St. Mary’s parishioners to gather for their cherished Christmas Eve Mass.

After four months of extensive fire remediation, St. Mary’s Church has been fully restored, allowing parishioners to once again celebrate Mass in their sacred space. “I’m excited for our parishioners, I’m excited for our parish. That the church we all love so much, we can use it again, we can be home again,” said Father Bob Poitras. At ServiceMaster by Gilmore, we are honored to have played a role in helping restore and rebuild St. Mary’s community.
