The Flood Damage
Although we are called for hundreds of water damage restoration jobs a year and think we’ve seen it all – sometimes a project comes along that astonishes even us. While any large water loss is difficult to process, this spring we had a client who faced an overwhelming series of challenges with her loss:
- Her home flooded.
- She was out of town when the loss happened.
- She experienced a death in the family while dealing with the water removal.
- The initial contractor exacerbated the job by
- robbing her house
- tearing the copper pipes out of the basement
- and handling the project so poorly that an extensive mold issue developed.
The Flood Cleanup and Mold Remediation Project
Based on a recommendation from a family member who had worked with us previously, she called ServiceMaster National Capital Restoration (NCR) to take over, perform water mitigation, and set things right.
Work began the day after our initial meeting, and within a week all of the damaged structure had been removed, the framing and floors dried, and mold remediation completed.
The Results
She and her insurance company were so happy with the work that they requested that we also work with her to clean and salvage her content items, as well as providing a hand-off to a qualified general contractor to help her rebuild. Not many companies can turn a project like this around, but here at ServiceMaster NCR we’ve been doing it for 30 years.
ServiceMaster NCR is available 24/7/365 to provide flood restoration services to homes and businesses in Northern Virginia, Washington DC and Southern Maryland – call us 24/7 at (202) 318-2245.
