Before you break out the grill or roast marshmallows over the fire, make sure you’re taking the proper steps to prevent fire damage and harm to you and your property:
- Clean your grill before cooking – leftover grease catches fire quickly!
- DO NOT leave any fire – whether it’s a bonfire or a small fire pit – unattended. Keep watch!
- Be sure you have a portable fire extinguisher nearby just in case.
- Keep your grill at least 2 FEET away from foliage, your house, and any siding on your deck.
