Our five operating divisions include four insurance repair divisions: on-location fire restoration, water mitigation and drying services, packing, cleaning, and storage (PCS), and Snohomish County operations – as well as commercial cleaning and janitorial services. We employ over 100 people and serve more than 4,000 customers every year. We are currently part of the ServiceMaster Clean Presidents cabinet award winners and the Institute of Inspection Cleaning and Restoration Certification (IICRC) certified business. The IICRC is the leading accreditation organization within the restoration industry.
All our water damage and fire damage restoration project managers are AHERA-certified building inspectors and each of them maintains their IICRC Applied Structural Drying certification. In addition, we have several Indoor Air Quality Association (IAQA) CMR-Certified Mold Restorers, ITC Certified Thermographers and Six Sigma Yellow and Green Belts. The idea behind Six Sigma is to combine people power with process power to improve the way companies perform.
In addition, our Building Services team members are concerned about our environment, on top of that, ServiceMaster has implemented its proprietary capture and removal Green Cleaning System and uses it on-site when needed.
Everyone here at ServiceMaster strives to provide the communities we live in with the best possible service and to be honorable and forthright while we do it. After a disaster, we get our customers back on their feet as quickly as possible with the least amount of disturbance to their daily lives. We have been succeeding at this since 1984, offering reliable damage restoration services in Seattle, Bellevue, and look forward to serving King, Snohomish, Island Counties for many years to come.
Our History
On April 1, 1984, Steve Losorwith, a vice president for Seafirst Bank, purchased the ServiceMaster of Seattle franchise. Upon purchasing ServiceMaster of Seattle, it was initially a simple small fire and water damage restoration business employing only five people. A year later, on April 1, 1985, the company had grown so much that Steve joined forces with Wes Mitchell, the regional franchise operations manager for ServiceMaster, to incorporate as L & M Services, Inc. d.b.a. ServiceMaster of Seattle.
The business continued to grow and by 1987, Wes and Steve were running the largest on-location cleaning franchise in the country. On September 1, 1989, Steve and Wes brought Michael S. Mack on to the team to assist with the operational aspects of their growing business.
In 1992, Wes and Steve decided to pursue major losses throughout the United States. On May 2, of that year, Dan Olson signed on to build and grow the major loss portion of the business.
In 1995, Wes and Barb Mitchell purchased Steve Losorwith’s shares of ServiceMaster of Seattle and became the sole owners of ServiceMaster of Seattle. In September of 1997 Richard Barr joined our team as the Director of Restoration Sales. Richard began to build his award-winning Sales and Marketing team.
In 2002, Michael and Dan purchased L & M Services Inc d.b.a ServiceMaster of Seattle from Wes and Barb Mitchell. In 2006, the company expanded, even more, when it added the Snohomish and Island County franchises. After the purchase, our tag line was changed to ServiceMaster serving King, Snohomish and Island Counties.
On October 1st, 2010 the ServiceMaster of Seattle family grew to include
ServiceMaster Professional Clean (SPC) in Yakima, WA. The owners of SPC
had a long-term business relationship with our ownership and hand-picked
ServiceMaster of Seattle to purchase their franchise. In 2017 Dan Olson
decided to retire, and Richard and Karen Barr joined the ownership group
when they purchased the Olson’s share in L & M Services Incorporated.
Richard has spent his career with L & M Services building our impeccable
Sales Team. In 2020 L&M Services Inc decided to give another long-term
manager an opportunity and as of October 1st, 2020 Rick and Beth Dykstra purchased the SPC franchise licenses in Yakima.
L&M Services Inc, dba ServiceMaster of Seattle and ServiceMaster by SRS are honored to have provided and continue to provide years of expertise and service to King, Snohomish and Island counties.
