Our five operating divisions include four insurance repair divisions: on-location fire restoration, water mitigation and drying services, packing, cleaning, and storage (PCS), and Snohomish County operations – as well as commercial cleaning and janitorial services. We employ over 100 people and serve more than 4,000 customers every year. We are currently part of the ServiceMaster Clean Presidents cabinet award winners and the Institute of Inspection Cleaning and Restoration Certification (IICRC) certified business. The IICRC is the leading accreditation organization within the restoration industry.
All our water damage and fire damage restoration project managers are AHERA-certified building inspectors and each of them maintains their IICRC Applied Structural Drying certification. In addition, we have several Indoor Air Quality Association (IAQA) CMR-Certified Mold Restorers, ITC Certified Thermographers and Six Sigma Yellow and Green Belts. The idea behind Six Sigma is to combine people power with process power to improve the way companies perform.
In addition, our Building Services team members are concerned about our environment, on top of that, ServiceMaster has implemented its proprietary capture and removal Green Cleaning System and uses it on-site when needed.
Everyone here at ServiceMaster strives to provide the communities we live in with the best possible service and to be honorable and forthright while we do it. After a disaster, we get our customers back on their feet as quickly as possible with the least amount of disturbance to their daily lives. We have been succeeding at this since 1984, offering reliable damage restoration services in Seattle, Bellevue, and look forward to serving King, Snohomish, Island Counties for many years to come.
Our History
On April 1, 1984, Steve Losorwith laid the foundation for an enduring legacy by acquiring the ServiceMaster of Seattle franchise. What began as a modest fire and water damage restoration business, staffed by just five dedicated individuals, quickly blossomed. Within a year, by 1985, the company’s rapid growth prompted Steve to partner with Wes Mitchell. Together, they incorporated as L & M Services, Inc., doing business as ServiceMaster of Seattle—a name that would soon become synonymous with excellence.
The business flourished under their leadership, and by 1987, Wes and Steve had transformed ServiceMaster of Seattle into the largest on-location cleaning franchise in the United States—an extraordinary milestone. In 1989, Michael S. Mack joined the team, bringing his expertise to streamline operations and support the company’s expanding ambitions.
The momentum continued into 1992 when Dan Olson came aboard as Chief Financial Officer, bolstering the leadership with financial acumen. Three years later, in 1995, Wes Mitchell acquired Steve Losorwith’s shares, taking full stewardship of ServiceMaster of Seattle’s future.
In 1997, Richard Barr joined as Director of Restoration Sales, igniting a new era of growth. With vision and tenacity, Richard assembled an award-winning Sales and Marketing team that elevated the company’s reputation even further. The turn of the millennium brought another pivotal shift: in 2002, Michael Mack and Dan Olson purchased L & M Services, Inc. from Wes and Barb Mitchell, ushering in a fresh chapter of innovation and leadership.
Expansion followed in 2006 with the addition of the Snohomish and Island County franchises under the banner of ServiceMaster by SRS. Reflecting this broader reach, the company adopted a new tagline: "ServiceMaster serving King, Snohomish, and Island Counties." In 2015, the acquisition of an SRM (ServiceMaster Recovery Management) license marked a bold leap onto the global stage, enabling the team to deliver large-scale commercial loss services worldwide.
Change continued in 2017 when Dan Olson retired, and Richard Barr stepped into the ownership circle by acquiring Olson’s shares in L & M Services, Inc. Richard’s decades-long commitment to building an impeccable sales force had already left an indelible mark on the company’s success. Then, in 2019, Alyson and Ryan Horton joined the L & M management team, poised to carry the torch forward. Alyson and Ryan are set to acquire full ownership of all our companies—L & M Services, Inc., dba ServiceMaster of Seattle, ServiceMaster by SRS, and SRM Seattle—from the Macks and the Barrs, ensuring a seamless transition into the future.
