General INfo about Air Duct Cleaning
How Often Should Air Ducts Be Cleaned?
According to the NADCA (National Air Duct Cleaners Association) - your air ducts should be cleaned once every 3 to 5 years. Please keep in mind this is a general time frame!
A more precise time frame depends on some factors, such as:
- How often you use your AC and heater
- Whether you or your family are prone to allergies
- If you have pets or live in a particularly dusty or windy region
We'd be more than happy to offer a more precise timeframe based on your specific conditions.
What Are Signs My Air Ducts Need Cleaning?
Aside from routine inspections and cleanings, some signs include:
- Bad smells from your air ducts
- Low airflow from the air ducts
- Rodent infestations in your air ducts
- Needing to change your air filers more often than usual (standard is once every 90 days)
- Mold or mildew growth around your air vents
- Higher than normal energy bills

12-Step Air Duct Cleaning System
Our system ensures satisfaction every time. Your NADCA certified Air Systems Cleaning Specialist (ASCS) will perform this process and walk you through every step of the way.
Step 1: Pre-Inspection
We perform a walk through inspection with you to identify number of units, supplies, returns, plenum access points, and other job requirements needed to perform our services and address your expectations.
Step 2: Move Furniture
Carefully move all furniture, using sliders as needed. Heavy pieces of furniture, especially those not deemed structurally sound to move, will remain in place so long as you have been informed of our concerns.
Step 3: Cover & Protect
All areas under and around each area we will be working will have large white sheets used to protect the area and catch any debris that may fall while removing and rehanging registers.
Step 4: Remove & Clean Registers
All areas around the registers will be carefully outlined with a razor knife to assist in breaking the seal to avoid damaging the paint & texture. All registers will be numbered and marked so that re-installation will be the same.
Step 5: Clean the return plenum
The return plenum will be HEPA vacuumed to remove as much debris buildup as possible. HEPA filtration will prevent the release of vacuumed particles from being exhausted into the air.
Step 6: Collection Device hook up
We have a gas powered outside system with a collection bag or we have an electric powered interior HEPA collection system that will be hooked up to the HVAC system to prevent debris from being released into your home during our cleaning process.
Step 7: Duct Cleaning
The appropriate method of cleaning will be chosen based on your system needs and request. We can clean with compressed air only, whips, brushes or contact cleaning. Each may vary in price but our certified Technicians will present you the appropriate option for your system.
Step 8: Visual Inspection
The certified technician will visually inspect the system for cleanliness during the cleaning process to determine if additional passes are needed.
Step 9: Take Down process
This is when our equipment is disconnected and taken down and the supply & return grills are rehung and placed in the original position.
Step 10: Post Cleanup
Our certified technicians will carefully remove all the white sheets and HEPA vacuum areas around each of our work places throughout your home so that we leave nothing behind and reset any moved furniture.
Step 11: Post Inspection
The technician will inspect all areas of work and turn the HVAC system back on to make sure it is functioning as it was upon our arrival.
Step 12: Final Inspection
This is when our technician walks you through to make sure your concerns have been addressed and upon completion, receives your signature for satisfaction of job completed document.
